Northwest Demolition was contracted for the decommissioning of a remote island Dolomite and Limestone quarry in British Columbia.  Project scope involved the removal of crushers, screens, transfer conveyors, and truck dumps.  The remote nature of the project required Northwest Demolition crews to be totally self-sufficient. All equipment and materials were delivered to the island via barge. Per safety requirements from the Canada Ministry of Mines, crews were required to be staffed with a Class I medic at all times. In total, over 1,000 tons of ferrous metals were prepared and transferred to Seattle, WA for recycling.  The project was completed without a single recordable or safety incident.

This project showcases Northwest Demolition’s successful experience working in remote locations that require additional logistics and safety considerations.
