Northwest Demolition was contracted for the first phase of a major medical campus redevelopment project in downtown Honolulu. Scope of work included the demolition of over 110,000 square feet of building space, including a three story post-tensioned parking structure and three-story medical building just a few inches away from an occupied 200-unit condominium. NWDD developed robust engineered work plans for the safe performance of these structures, completing this project without safety incident and nearly one month ahead of schedule. In total, nearly 9,500 tons of concrete and demolition debris were removed from site. Post-demolition, NWDD was retained to perform the backfill and grading of the site, which saw the import of over 10,000 tons of select fill.
